(30th Jan – 6th Feb 2024)Sipna School of Planning and Architecture successfully conducted an 8-day study tour from 30th January to 6th February 2024, offering students an immersive learning experience across Tamil Nadu’s architectural and cultural heritage.The journey began on 30th January, with students traveling from Amravati to Chennai via Nagpur. On 31st January, they explored Mahabalipuram, visiting the Shore Temple, rock-cut caves, and ancient sculptures. The tour continued on 1st February to Pondicherry, where students experienced the French colonial charm of White Town and historic landmarks.On 2nd February, they visited Auroville, learning about sustainable urban design and innovative architecture. The next day, 3rd February, the group explored Trichy, visiting Rockfort Temple, Ranganathaswamy Temple, and St. Lourdes Church, before heading to Thanjavur. On 4th February, they discovered the Brihadeshwara Temple, Thanjavur Royal Palace, and Gangaikonda Cholapuram, witnessing the grandeur of Chola architecture.On 5th February, the students traveled back to Chennai and boarded a train to Nagpur, concluding their journey on 6th February, with their return to Amravati.This tour provided students with a deep understanding of historical and contemporary architectural marvels, enriching their academic knowledge through real-world exploration.
